Laser Treatments
PinPointe FootLaser
Laser treatment for fungal toenails has grown immensely in popularity in recent years. The PinPointe FootLaser is the first clinically proven laser device for treating patients with onychomycosis, or toenail fungus. Safe and effective, the in-office treatment is virtually pain free and has no harmful side effects.
Treatment with the PinPointe FootLaser is non-invasive, typically taking less than 30 minutes to complete. During the procedure, the podiatrist will move the laser in a grid-like pattern over the infected toenail. The laser then directly penetrates the toenail and kills the offending fungus without damaging the nail or surrounding tissue.
K-Laser
In podiatry, Class IV Therapeutic Lasers may be used to treat a variety of conditions, including plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. The K-Laser uses red and near-infrared wavelengths of light to stimulate cell activity and promote better flow of nutrients through cell membranes. This allows for better circulation, reduced inflammation, relief of spasms and/or stiffness, and the alleviation of pain in the affected area.
Treatment with the K-Laser is non-invasive, typically taking less than 10 minutes. Mild tingling or warmth may be felt during the procedure with few side effects. Laser therapy may be combined with other treatment methods such as massage or physical therapy to further speed up the healing process and shorten the recovery period.
